At Morning Gathering we sang our good morning song, wished Ivy a happy birthday, listened to Ivy share a little about her presents, shared some ways we keep ourselves and each other safe with Elsa, sang our "I Hear Something Beautiful" anthem, and prepared ourselves for the day! Dawn had a group of master lego builders in the block room! Camila shared some pumpkins with us today. We decided to do some hammering and screw work on the pumpkin while discussing what we observed. We decided as a group we would also love to carve and paint it, but how would we carve it. Hmmm... We decide to go ask Chef Jonathan if he has any tools we could use to carve our pumpkin! But to our surprise, Jonathan is doing a very exciting job--changing lightbulbs!! Next we did some carving open of our pumpkin and explored what was inside! We felt the goopy stuff. Some kids liked how it felt and enjoyed sorting out the seeds. Some kids did not enjoy the goopy stuff and wanted to wash their hands right away :) Next, we packed up the pumpkin, the carving tools, some marker and paint. We were ready to decorate this pumpkin outside at the picnic table! For snack we enjoyed apples, crackers, jam, and cheddar cheese. After snack we did some group yoga with Elsa, wrote in journals with Tiffany, and read books with Holly. It was a super fun and engaging Monday morning!

"My favorite part of the day was painting the pumpkin!"
