We had a marvelous Monday! Even though the rather was chilly again, we couldn’t wait to get outside into this early spring sunshine!Dawn has been making sure there is a dance party happening multiple times a day in the quiet room. She sang songs while playing instruments, had a dance party, played restaurant, read books, built complex jack hammers, and helped each other get ready to go outside. Vermont Early Learning Standards - Domain Three (Science) Element Four (Engineering Design) Goal One 1. Children design, experiment, construct, alter, and problem solve to modify the natural world and meet their needs and wants. Holly got some photos of fun on the playground. Eiley prepared food on ice plates. Holly had the leaf stew and said it was delicious :) Franklin chose to take out the ukulele aka “Ukie”. He made our outdoor time so magically musical! Elsa took a group on a short walk to the log and the playground. Franklin took his show on the road with us. Vivian and Sydney stood on our dwindling snow mountain and said “Elsa, I am as tall as you!!”. When we got to the log, Carter and Franklin tried out the much trickier skinny log. Everyone struggled balancing on the skinnier log, and Carter noticed if he turned his feet side ways he could balance much easier!
Jo tried her hand at singing in the woods - our favorite was twinkle twinkle little star. We also had a pumpkin the cat sighting! The cat seemed excited to see us and say hello! Vermont Early Learning Standards: Domain II (Creativ art and expression) Element 2 (Music) . Children engage in making and listening to music as a vehicle for expression and learning. Domain III (Mathematics) Element 3 (Measurement and classification) 1. Children compare and classify objects according to their attributes, use Standard and non-Standard units of measure, tell time and work with units of money. They develop the ability to represent and interpret data, and use operations to solve problems related to measurement including geometric measurement The last two days have brought about more dance parties (gummy bear song is a new favorite) and rough and tumble play! We have also been painting, building bridges, and taking care of babies! Lennon was very interested in helping out Virginia and helping her outside! Creativity never takes a day off in our classroom! Mud season on our playground made a muddy river! We also walked to the log to see if there was any snow left to play in.... no luck! But lots of birds chirping and play to be done! Reading buddies has become a Wednesday tradition with our downstairs neighbors!
Welcome back Baby Virginia!!We had a terrific Tuesday! Lots of sensory play with paper making, washing the easel. And of course water in the water table! We also did some dance partying, body tracing, train building, and enjoyed our muddy playground :)More body tracing being done today with Holly! We also made an epic train track, a house and picnic spot out of blocks, and checked on “Lake Lindenwood” after how HUGE it was last week.Lots of fun this week! Body tracings, painting, dance parties, building motorcycles, houses, pirate ships, boats, and bridges! Lots of exploring and joy!Welcome Back!!We are so happy to have everyone back after break!
