We had another play-filled day with a few projects happening inside and outside.Holly made inventions with the kids with some loose parts and the glue gun. They took turns explaining what their inventions were about and made some future plans about drawing their inventions. Domain 3, (Science) Element 4. (Engineering) Design 1. Children design, experiment, construct, alter, and problem solve to modify the natural world and meet their needs and wants. Dominique helped the children play with baby Virginia in the block area. They also read books and gave lots of hugs all morning :) Vermont Early Learning Standards: Domain I (Devloping Self- Social and Emotional Learning and Development) Element 3 (Relationships with Adults and Peers) 1. Reading 2a. writing Elsa took the kids on a walk after her group voted to go to the log (the results were 4 to 2). We raced to our different milestones so we would have lots of time at the log: snow mountain, the yellow sign with a black arrows, and the canoes. Then we started using swords to balance on the log. Eiley found a fantastic sit-spot and heard a wood pecker and lots of other birds. We decided to make a big fort for us to all sit in. Charlie thought that it looked like a trap set y hunters, watch out!
