There was kindness in the air this Friday. Everyone was being extra kind to each other and it felt a little extra magical. We started with some quiet meditation today during our morning gathering. But first we watched the Elsa Goes to Tire Warehouse show! Art, Books, Building, Baby care-taking, with writing and researching animals happening all around the classroom this morning. Elsa had some friends driving their cars through paint to make some tire prints for a thankyou card for Tire Warehouse (ask your kiddos about the exciting Elsa Goes to Tire Warehouse show)! Maeve made an animal poster with drawings and labels of different animals. Dawn read and sang Puff the Magic Dragon several times through. The group had a beautiful discussion about the word "sorrow". Lexi tells us she learned the word sorrow from a poem about a raven. Cormac said that talking about puff feeling sorrow made his heart feel like being more kind today. Lexi drew a picture of an ear and said "I know I will give this ear to Gracie because she REALLY likes ears! Holly did some paper doll art with the kids today, but somehow didn't get any pics of it...(well except this one that I made for Kingston hehe) Of course one of the most exciting parts of Friday is the French Toast :) Elsa hit on the following VELS today:

So sweet that Lexi gave her ear picture to Gracie! Kindness Friday, what a wonderful way to end the week! I see Lexi brought up The Raven. It's a long story, but Lexi became interested in Poe's poem because of a cartoon, so she had us explain what it was about. She loves it!
