Happy Friday! Today was full of lots of critical thinking, creative design, and surprises! We built houses and castles out of the big blocks with Chevy, continued working on our costumes with Holly, and we had a dress rehearsal for Luncheon on the Grass with the big kids as our audience with Dawn. It was also Elsa's birthday and we knew she was coming to visit today so we made decorations for the classroom with Dominique. We hid all around the classroom when we knew Elsa was on her way and we yelled "SURPRISE!" followed by a serenade of the Happy Birthday Song after she walked into the classroom. We had so much fun making Elsa feel how special and loved she is! We also worked together to complete some tricky puzzles, built magnatile houses in the sensory table, and began an excavation dig in the sandbox for dinosaur skin. We also took turns helping Baby Virginia walk around the classroom and find safe ways to quench her thirst for climbing. Our snack was our famous French Toast Friday with berries and bananas. Listed below are some of the Vermont Early Learning Standards highlighted in our play. Please enjoy these photos from our incredible end of our second to last week of school.
