ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT (TO SOMEWHERE NICE AND WARM)!SNACK: Cucumbers drizzled with maple balsamic, pumpkin seeds, and peaches
*Self Portraits *lots of taping *cutting strips and making ice castles *rubbing leaves with crayons and watercoloring over top *jumping and rocking out on our "trampolines" *traveling to far off places *discussing our leaf and fall observations *wondering how stars got so high up in the sky (Our friend W says he thinks someone must have taken a very very tall ladder and put them up there!) Today was a special day as we celebrated one of our friend's turning three! Note from Andy: Warm up: Playdough, Water table with working pumps, Meeting: Birthday celebration with photo books and the Happy Birthday song! Explore: Collaging with Nicole, pegboards, brown bear puzzle, and constructing a big block walkway. Outside: Bikes, chalk drawings on the stage, window markers at the easel, playing catch with balls, and some baby/family play in the outdoor kitchen. Today's snack was yogurt and granola with pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, oranges and apples! Yum Yum! Thanks Chef Jonathan! A few more fun photos from the day: Today the children were invited to create their own self-portraits. Andy offered mirrors, markers and paper. The children observed themselves in the mirror and Andy offered many guiding questions such as "Well, how many eyes do you have? Do you have hair on the top of your head? Do you think you'll add a smile or a frown?"
Is this thing on? Please leave us a comment below if you have had a chance to access our new blog! Our plan is to post a daily photo and small blurb about each day. We are also hoping to share weekly reflections on teaching. Thanks for stopping by!
